Credit card company Capital One Financial has signed an agreement with Insight Sports of Toronto to become the title sponsor of the Grand Slam Curling series. During the multi-year term of the agreement, the series will be renamed the Capital One Grand Slam of Curling. The series consists of eight annual events for Canadian men's and women's curling teams. The company will also develop a community program called the Capital One School of Rock intended to provide local student with advice from top curlers. "This is our first major sporting sponsorship, and it's only fitting that it connects us with one of our nation's most popular and distinctive sports," said Ian Cunningham, chief operating officer of Capital One Canada.
