Mitsubishi readies Clean Across Canada Tour
Mississauga-based Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada will begin a promotion called the "Clean Across Canada Tour" in support of its I-Miev electric vehicle on Aug. 17. The car will begin its trip at St. John's, NL and spend 28 days travelling to Vancouver for the EV 2010 electric vehicle conference and trade show. The tour will stop at various towns and cities during the 7,500 km trip to conduct demonstrations of the car and distribute product information. According to the company, this will be the first time an electric vehicle has driven across Canada from coast to coast. The company has also constructed a website to support the tour, located at <http://www.cleanacrosscanada.ca>. "The I-Miev is an exciting break-through for Mitsubishi in zero tailpipe emissions technology," said Koji Soga, president and CEO of Mitsubishi Canada. "Our values of renewable production, clean air technology, alternative fuel and conservation, represented by our tagline 'Drive@earth,' guide our company. The Clean Across Canada tour, a first for Canadians, will showcase the technology and capability of this no compromise urban vehicle." The vehicle will go on sale in Canada in late 2011.
