Fort Frances retains Twist Marketing

The municipality of Fort Frances, ON has hired Twist Marketing of Calgary to undertake a community branding initiative. The agency won the account in a formal request-for-proposals process. The intent of the project is to develop a uniform brand for use throughout the town.

"Many people think that branding is only about creating a pretty logo," said Chris Fields, senior brand and destination marketing strategist at Twist Marketing. "Nothing could be further from the truth. It's more akin to distilling a lot of information through a funnel to create a condensed mix that answers the questions. Who are we? Why do we matter? What do we want to be known for? What do we want to say and how do we say it? What does the future look like for us? To be heard above the clutter of media noise, municipalities need to develop a unique voice and a distinctive message and have a solid strategy to effectively implement their marketing."

Twist expects to deliver its recommendations to the Fort Frances Economic Development Advisory Committee in early 2014, with implementation planned for the spring.
