Aimia buys stake in AirAsia loyalty program
Montreal-based Aimia has acquired a minority stake in Think Big Digital, the company that operates the loyalty program of AirAsia Berhad of Malaysia. Think Big Digital is a joint venture between AirAsia and financial services company Tune Money. The deal is worth C$17 million, with up to an additional C$7 million to be paid if certain conditions are met by the end of 2015. The AirAsia Big loyalty program also includes credit card companies, retail stores, gas stations, insurance companies and telecommunications firms in southeast Asia.
