Canadian Tire, Canadian Paralympic Committee extend agreement
Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities and the Canadian Paralympic Committee have extended their support of the Parasport Jumpstart Fund for a second year. The program assists children with disabilities from financially disadvantaged families to participate in organized sports and recreational programs. The organizations will increase their funding from $100,000 to $150,000 to assist with the costs of registration, equipment and transportation for children between the ages of four and 18 seeking to participate in a range of approved parasport programs. Canadians can apply to the program online at <http://www.paralympic.ca/jumpstart>.
"We are proud to announce the second year of our partnership with the Canadian Paralympic Committee so we can give even more kids living with physical disabilities a sporting chance," said Johnny Misley, president of Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities. "Last year we gave over 290 Canadian kids living with disabilities in nine provinces the opportunity to develop the confidence, social skills and discipline that comes from organized sport and we look forward to helping even more children in 2014."
