Sponsorship Marketing Council expands, rebrands

The Toronto-based Sponsorship Marketing Council Canada has undertaken a rebranding initiative to go along with its expansion into western Canada. The organization has opened new chapters in Calgary and Vancouver as part of an effort to make the council a national body. The group plans to announce chapters in additional cities later in the year. The new branding is centered on a redesigned website at <>. The site contains information about the organization's events and educational programs. It also introduces a new visual style that is intended to be vibrant and dynamic.

"Our industry is growing and so is our membership," said Dan MacKenzie, board chair of the council. "The SMCC is evolving to meet the rapidly-expanding needs of our members and these exciting growth initiatives reflect these demands. The goal for this stage of the SMCC's evolution is to create a national network for marketing professionals which allows our members to stay on the cutting edge of sponsorship marketing. Our members are global leaders of the industry and we need to be thinking as big as they do."
