Tangerine begins payday contest
Toronto-based bank Tangerine has begun a contest promotion called "Tangerine Paydays." The contest promotes a new offer from the company called Friday Bonus Paydays. Until Oct. 31, consumers who have or open a chequing account and use it to receive payroll direct deposits will receive an extra $10 in the account each week for three months.
The social media contest supporting this offer can be entered by submitting a description what the entrant would do with the $10 bonus. Submissions can take the form of photographs, video or text and can be made by Twitter, Facebook or Instagram. The winner will receive the $10 bonus each week for a year.
"We are rewarding our clients with a bonus payment each week over three months rather than giving them a lump sum bonus, so that it feels like a payday in between paydays," said Andrew Zimakas, chief marketing officer at Tangerine. "Not only do clients save fees and time with a Tangerine chequing account, but now they get a few extra dollars that they can use to brighten their day or add to their savings."
Tangerine is a subsidiary of Scotiabank.
