Tim Hortons promotes Steak & Cheese Panini
Tim Hortons has begun a social media promotion supporting the permanent addition of the Steak & Cheese Panini to its menu. During the promotion, called "Steakholder," consumers will be invited to enter a draw via Twitter by describing why their co-workers should receive lunch from Tim Hortons. Submissions will be open until Oct. 8. On Oct. 10, 10 randomly-selected winners will receive a lunch delivery of Steak & Cheese Panini at their workplace. Consumers can also visit a website at <http://www.timhortons.com/steakholder> to invite others to participate.
"According to the NPD Group, steak sandwiches are the fastest-growing category in quick-service restaurants, and last year our limited-time Steak & Cheese Panini became our number one selling sandwich," said Tammy Martin, vice-president of marketing, food and merchandise at Tim Hortons. "It was clear that we not only needed to bring back the original Steak & Cheese Panini for good, but also complement it with a bolder Chipotle option and seize the opportunity to introduce steak at breakfast."
