Magazines Canada promotes arts and literary publications

Magazines Canada has begun an online marketing campaign in support of Canadian literary, arts and cultural publications. The initiative, which is being conducted in association with electronic reader company Kobo and book discovery website 49th Shelf, makes use of online areas where participating magazines can be browsed, samples and purchased. The campaign is aimed primarily at book readers. The special collections are located at <> and <>.

"Because there is limited access to these titles in traditional retail outlets, many Canadians don't realize how many fantastic cultural magazines this country produces, showcasing our best writers and artists," said Barbara Bates, executive director of circulation marketing at Magazines Canada. "These online special collections will give art and literary magazines the spotlight they deserve and make them easily available to readers across Canada and around the world."

The campaign also includes print advertising, price discounts and a contest, the winner of which will receive $500 in Canadian magazines and books as well as a Kobo Arc 10HD tablet.
