Courvoisier conducts LinkedIn promotion

Alcohol company Beam Suntory has begun a social media promotion in support of its Courvoisier cognac brand. The initiative, developed by Toronto-based social media marketing agency Matchstick, consists of an application called "Celebrate With Courvoisier" on the website The application allows Canadian LinkedIn users to send congratulatory messages to people in their social network who have recently changed job titles. It can be accessed through desktop or mobile devices at <>. According to the company, the promotion is the first in Canada to make use of LinkedIn consumer data in a marketing campaign. The company has also recently launched a Courvoisier-branded page on the site.

"We decided to strategically leverage the growing power of LinkedIn to reach a very discerning and core cognac consumer in Canada," said Vonetta Charles, Courvoisier brand manager at Beam Suntory. "The LinkedIn platform offers a comparatively less cluttered and content-centric environment where Courvoisier fans are spending an increasing amount of time."
