Extreme Pita readies National Pita Day promotion

Fast food chain Extreme Pita will conduct a promotion on Nov. 19 called "National Pita Day." During this fourth annual initiative, the chain will donate one dollar from each pita sold to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. In addition, for two weeks before the promotional day, Extreme Pita locations will solicit additional donations to the foundation through the sale of paper hearts.

"This fundraising event allows us to demonstrate our engagement in the communities we do business in and give back to our loyal guests and Canadians affected by heart disease and stroke," said Erica Gale, director of marketing at Extreme Pita. "The foundation's work is more urgent than ever, because heart disease and stroke still take one life every seven minutes in Canada."

Extreme Pita is a subsidiary of Montreal-based MTY Food Group.
