Shoeme.ca installs virtual shopping wall in Vancouver

Online footwear retailer Shoeme.ca has begun an out-of-home advertising campaign in Vancouver. The campaign, developed by Lamar Advertising, consists of a wall mural in Vancouver City Station that functions as a shopping service. The creative displays a range of shoes accompanied by quick response codes that can be used to purchase the products with a mobile phone. According to the company, this is the first time this form of advertising has been used in British Columbia. The installation is intended to remain in place for an extended period of time, with a rotating collection of merchandise.

"The concept of a virtual shopping wall in a transit environment has been executed in other international transit markets, but this is a first for Vancouver transit," said Byron Montgomery, regional vice-president and general manager of Lamar Advertising. "We are thrilled that Shoeme.ca embraced this interactive concept in OOH marketing and partnered with Lamar to make it happen."
