Oakley signs sponsorship deal with Whistler Blackcomb
British Columbian ski resort Whistler Blackcomb has signed a three-year sponsorship agreement with eyewear company Oakley. Through this deal, Oakley products will be worn by various resort employees at the Whistler Blackcomb Snow School, its retail division and Whistler Heli-Skiing. Oakley branding and marketing materials will also be placed on the mountain and in Whistler Blackcomb retail locations. In addition, a digital display will recommend eyewear for daily weather conditions. Oakley will also participate in various events, including rail jams, park sessions and day camps.
"The Oakley brand is synonymous with high performance eyewear, which is critical for an optimal guest experience at Whistler Blackcomb whether you are skiing, riding or downhill mountain biking on our mountains," said Stuart Rempel, senior vice-president of marketing and sales at Whistler Blackcomb.
Oakley is a subsidiary of Luxottica Group.
