Fitneff, New Balance begin touring promotion

Toronto-based fitness equipment maker Fitneff has begun a North American promotion in association with athletic footwear maker New Balance of Boston. The touring initiative promotes the benefits of increased physical activity at home or at work. Fitneff is using the campaign to promote a product called the WalkTop, a desk that can be attached to a variety of treadmills. New Balance will be the official footwear and apparel sponsor of the tour.

Until June, the multi-city tour will visit a series of specialty fitness retailers, corporations, universities, hospitals and community events to conduct product demonstrations. New Balance representatives will provide information about the proper fitting of the company's footwear. The campaign will also make use of lunch events, invitational events and street promotions.

"With the WalkTop treadmill desk and New Balance's high-performance footwear, we are offering a relevant one-stop shop product experience while simultaneously educating consumers about the problems that extensive sitting and poor fitting shoes can cause and the solutions that can be offered by getting up periodically during the day and walking in the right fitting footwear," said Laurel Walzak, COO of Fitneff.
