Smoke's Poutinerie readies touring promotion
Toronto-based fast food chain Smoke's Poutinerie is preparing to resume a promotion called the "World Famous Great Canadian Cross Country Plaid Gravy Train Fries Curd & Gravy Weird Wild and Wacky Poutine Eating Tour." The touring promotion will visit 21 Canadian cities in July and August in a branded vehicle. At each stop, consumers can sample free poutine and win prizes. The tour will feature the participation of Tim 'Gravy' Brown, international competitive eating champion.
The campaign also includes an online contest, beginning today. Visitors to the brand's Facebook page who post images depicting their love of poutine will be entered into a competition for a private "Poutine Party" for 100, plus free poutine for a year. The contest is open to residents of the 21 cities where the tour will stop.
"Our fans and customers all across Canada are outrageous, wacky and creative so we can't wait to see what they post on our Facebook page," said company founder Ryan Smolkin. "We're bringing the party to them, and in the words of my favourite band Poison, we're going to show them nothing but a good time."
