New chairman at CARAS
The Toronto-based Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences has appointed Mark Cohon to the position of chairman of its board of directors. The organization also encompasses the Juno Awards and the music education charity MusiCounts. Cohon, a former commissioner of the Canadian Football League, will begin work on Sept. 29. Cohon has also been head of international marketing at the National Basketball Association and head of corporate development at Major League Baseball. He was also president and CEO of AudienceView Ticketing.
