Toronto Public Health begins condom design contest
Toronto Public Health has begun a campaign inviting members of the public to design a new condom wrapper for its CondomTO program. Since launching the program in 2014, the organization has distributed condoms in branded wrappers at major events in the city in an effort to raise awareness of safer sex.
The contest was developed by The&Partnership Canada, which will also create a wrapper design for release next year. Winners will be determined by online voting. The initiative also includes a sponsorship by One Condoms, which is managing the contest and its website at <http://www.condomto.ca>, as well as the participation of the Miami Ad School Toronto.
"The positive reaction we've seen to our three campaigns to date has shown us that the people of Toronto are engaged in the topic of safer sex and reducing the risk of sexually transmitted infections and unplanned pregnancies," said Barbara Yaffe, acting medical officer of health for Toronto."The CondomTO contest will help us build on that success and high level of engagement, especially among young people in our city, as they experience high rates of sexually transmitted infections."
