Toronto-based market research firm The Logit Group has acquired data collection company Cido Research Americas, also based in Toronto. According to the company, the merger will create the largest independently-owned data collection company in Canada. The merged entity will also have offices in Montreal, Wichita, KS, Sudbury, ON, London, ON, Calais, ME and San Jose, Costa Rica. Logit plans to incorporate Cido's international activities into a separate division, while broadening its own domestic operations.

Cido president Tim Sinke has been appointed chief operating officer of the combined company. Logit co-founders Anthony Molinaro and Sam Pisani, as well as with Paul Molinaro, have been appointed managing partners. Cido managing director Roland Klassen will hold an advisory position.
