Canadian Blood Services begins holiday campaign
Canadian Blood Services has begun a new campaign encouraging consumers to donate blood during the holiday season. Developed by The Sandbox Agency of Toronto, the initiative consists of an online video, social media activities, blog content and in-clinic posters. The video depicts the meeting of a young blood transfusion recipient meeting a blood donor. The campaign will run until Dec. 31.
"We need people to understand that they have the power to give life by becoming blood donors," said Mark Donnison, vice-president of donor relations at Canadian Blood Services. "This is even more important during the holidays when people can get distracted with seasonal gift giving. The gift of blood is the most meaningful gift of all, and it can't be bought."
