Dominican Republic conducts promotion in Toronto
The Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism conducted a promotion today in Toronto. The one-hour event, which began at noon at Yonge-Dundas Square, featured music and 40 Merengue dancers, as well as virtual reality presentations and oversized postcard displays. The promotion, called "Beat the Winter Blues," was conducted in association with the CBC and travel company Sunwing. The event also featured a live giveaway of a trip to Punta Cana. An online draw for a second trip is being conducted at <http://www.cbc.ca/beattheblues> until Feb. 26.
In addition, Co-op Taxi vehicles in the Greater Toronto Area displayed Dominican Republic advertising and played Merengue music for passengers. Consumers also received coupons for future taxi rides.
