Kia extends David Hearn sponsorship
Toronto-based automaker Kia Canada has extended its sponsorship agreement with professional golfer David Hearn and expanded its involvement in Canadian junior golf. During the term of the multi-year deal, Hearn will continue to display the company's logo on his apparel while competing. The company will also supply him with vehicles.
Kia and Hearn will also collaborate on two initiatives: the David Hearn Junior Series presented by Kia, and The David Hearn Foundation Kia Grant. The first will take the form a a series of five junior golf tournaments nationally, followed by a championship event in September. The foundation operates in association with the Canadian Junior Golf Association to support its competitive golf development program. It consists of tournaments, clinics, international competitions and mentoring programs. The foundation's grant will seek to raise funds for the Alzheimer Society.
"We're excited to once again support David, his foundation and the next generation of Canadian golfers," said Ted Lancaster, chief operating officer at Kia Canada. "Kia strongly believes in the benefits that sport provides, specifically for youth, and we're committed to helping communities grow by providing them with opportunities to play and learn together."
