Boston Pizza begins Canada Pizza promotion
Mississauga-based restaurant chain Boston Pizza has begun a promotional initiative to coincide with the 150th anniversary of Canada. Through the Canada Day weekend, the chain will adopt the temporary name Canada Pizza at its 380 locations nationally. The chain will also conduct a series of special events at its locations on July 1. At these patio party-themed events, moose and beaver masks will be distributed to children. Consumers who share pictures of their children wearing these masks on social media sites will be entered into draws for Boston Pizza gift cards.
"Canada is the birthplace of Boston Pizza and there is no better day to remind Canadians of our patriotism than Canada's milestone birthday," said Jordan Holm, executive vice-president of marketing and communications at Boston Pizza International. "As Canada's number one casual dining restaurant brand, it felt natural for us to change our name and give Canadians a designated place to celebrate our great country's 150th birthday, on a patio, with great food and a cold drink in hand."
