Loblaw conducts Eat Together Day promotion
Loblaw Companies of Toronto will conduct a promotion called "Eat Together Day" today tied to the 150th anniversary of Canada. The promotion consists of a series of community barbecue events held at Loblaw grocery stores nationally. The events will include the participation of approximately 200,000 Loblaw employees. According to the company, the events are intended to highlight the physical and mental benefits of eating together, such as happier children, stronger family relationships and sociocultural understanding.
"The 'Eat Together' movement celebrates the role food plays and the power it has in bringing people together at a time when the world seems increasingly disconnected," said Uwe Stueckmann, senior vice-president of marketing at Loblaw Companies. "From fostering communities to fighting obesity to bringing people closer, the simple act of eating together has countless benefits. Today, we invite everyone to join us in experiencing the joy that comes with friends, families and communities eating together."
