Destination Canada forms agreement with Sina Weibo
Vancouver-based Destination Canada, a national tourism marketing organization, has formed an agreement with Chinese social media service Sina Weibo to promote travel from China to Canada. The website will provide Destination Canada with influencer information and analytics intended to assist in the development of campaigns aimed at millennial-aged travelers. The two companies will also collaborate on a series of activities intended to raise awareness of Canada during the recently established Canada-China Year of Tourism in 2018.
"This agreement is another important step in building closer ties between our two countries through tourism," said Bardish Chagger, Minister of Small Business and Tourism. "As we get ready for the Canada-China Year of Tourism in 2018, we are working to promote more cultural exchanges, closer people-to-people ties and more visitors to Canada, which will help to create good, middle class jobs in communities from coast to coast to coast."
