Sony/ATV Music Publishing releases promotional song
Toronto-based Sony/ATV Music Publishing Canada has released a promotional song called "A Song to Sing." Produced in association with Bloc-Notes Music Publishing and a number of other Canadian music publishers, the song was written by musicians Rob Wells and Shobha. Intended to promote Canadian songwriters and performers, it is intended to reflect the experience of being Canadian. The lyrics draw on comments collected via social media and during in-person interviews. A French version of the song, called "Chantons Ensemble," has also been released. It was written by Patrick Bouchard and Koraly Lauzon.
"This event was a very special opportunity to showcase talented English and French writers from across the country, in order to let parliamentarians know that music is the signature of our country," said Diane Pinet, president of Bloc-Notes.
