Dempster's readies Give a Lunch campaign

Toronto-based Canada Bread is preparing a fundraising campaign in the name of it's Dempster's brand called "Buy a Lunch, Give a Lunch." From Aug. 23 to Oct. 3, the company will donate two slices of bread to food banks nationally for each Dempster's product purchased. The progress of the initiative will be tracked online at <http://buyalunch.dempsters.ca>. According to the company, it hopes to donate two million slices of bread during the campaign.

"We want to celebrate that Dempster's is made by Canadians, for Canadians," said Frayan Mama, senior marketing manager for Dempster's. "We know Canadians value kindness and generosity, as do we, so we are asking our caring customers to join in to buy a lunch to give a lunch to those who need it most. When Canadians buy Dempster's bread this fall, they'll know that they are helping a fellow Canadian who is struggling to put food on the table.  It's a simple action that has a big impact across the country. At Dempster's, we're proud to do our part and hope Canadians feel proud too when they purchase our product."
