Quebecor sponsors Montreal International Black Film Festival
Quebecor has signed-on as a sponsor of the Montreal International Black Film Festival for the next three years. The 14th annual event will take place from Sept. 25 to 30. As part of its sponsorship, Quebecor will create a $5,000 Quebecor Diversity scholarship for aspiring young black film professionals. Quebecor will also conduct a promotional campaign through its media properties in support of the event. The Montreal International Black Film Festival is conducted by the Fabienne Colas Foundation.
"We are proud to be able to support the vitality and diversity of independent cinema by partnering with the MIBFF," said Pierre Karl Péladeau, president and CEO of Quebecor. "Film gives us a compelling and authentic portrait of a people. The MIBFF is a marvelous opportunity to look beyond borders and experience other cultures from around the world."
