Scotiabank sponsors FitSpirit Celebrations
Scotiabank has signed-on as the title sponsor of an event called FitSpirit Celebrations for a second year. From May 7 to May 30, events will take place in eight cities in Ontario and Quebec intended to encourage girls between the ages of 12 to 17 to become more physically fit. Each event will include a variety of physical activities and challenges. Scotiabank was the title sponsor of the initiative when it debuted last year. FitSpirit events will take place in Windsor, Toronto, Ottawa and Sudbury in Ontario, as well as Montreal, Quebec City, Rimouski and Abitibi-Témiscamingue in Quebec.
“At Scotiabank, we know that when given the opportunity to participate in organized activities, that young people will develop life-long skills and values that will support their growth into healthy, contributing adults,” said Gillian Riley, executive vice-president of Scotiabank. “Young people are our future leaders and Scotiabank's goal is to help ensure that they have the necessary skills and resources they need to support their success. We know that how we support young people today, can prepare them for tomorrow, and that's why we want to provide opportunities to help them reach their infinite potential.”
