New credit union advertising rule approved
The Ontario Ministry of Finance has approved a new regulation called the Credit Union Deposit Insurance Advertising Rule. It will come into effect on April 23. The rule governs how credit unions and caisses populaires in that province advertise deposit insurance coverage. It specifies that these businesses are required to display decals and promotional material in branches and on their websites. Businesses must be in compliance with the new rule by July 23. The rule will be administered by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario.
