Toronto Star readies Desi Life magazine
The Toronto Star will introduce a new bi-monthly magazine on April 19 called Desi Life. The glossy publication will be aimed at the approximately 600,000 members of the South Asian community in the Greater Toronto Area. The magazine will be distributed through home delivery and through certain retail locations. Bageshree Paradkar has been appointed editor of the magazine "The Star is committed to providing culturally specific content to the various communities that help to define Toronto," said Jagoda Pike, publisher of the Toronto Star and president of the Star Media Group. "Desi Life is a great example of how we are working to deliver the content that our readers want, in an environment that meets our advertiser's expectations. We believe that Desi Life will fill a gap in the media market with its entertaining and engaging content, high quality design and targeted distribution."
