Budweiser readies Canada's Goal Light ad
Labatt Breweries of Canada will release a new commercial for its Budweiser brand during the broadcast of the Super Bowl this weekend. The 60-second ad, called "Canada's Goal Light," depicts a 20-foot-tall hockey goal light being transported to the North Pole. The light will be installed in the Arctic in September and will be synced to light up when a hockey goal is scored. Before then, the light will be taken on a promotional tour of the country, beginning in New Brunswick on Feb. 25. The tour will be supported with online materials at <http://www.budweiser.ca/canadasgoallight>.
"Over the years, we have brought goal celebrations to Canadians with the game-synced Budweiser Red Light and this September, when Canada will be defending the world title, we plan to make goal celebrations even bigger," said Andrew Oosterhuis, director of Budweiser Canada. "Canada's Goal Light will be lighting up the world in support of Canada, along with thousands of Budweiser Red Light owners."
