Agents of Necessity opens in Toronto

A new marketing consulting firm called Agents of Necessity has launched in Toronto. The company also has locations in New York and London. The firm offers workshops and strategy consulting services aimed at agencies, marketers, non-governmental organizations and newly-launched companies.

The company was founded by Sarah Ivey, previously global chief strategy officer at Initiative. She was also worldwide director of communication planning at Initiative and Canadian general manager at Sandbox.

"Seeing your business through a global lens is the first step in future-proofing your brand," said Ivey. "The very nature of global competitiveness is changing, because your customers are constantly comparing you against all other marketers. Ideas, innovation, even service models, travel at speed across markets and categories. Marketers must stay on top of technology, take a start-up mindset and be open to transform their business models. That's a complex, tall order, and one that requires a more global perspective, which is why Agents of Necessity was founded."
