Sun Life extends Raptors sponsorship

Sun Life Assurance has extended its sponsorship agreement with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment regarding the Toronto Raptors basketball team. Beginning with the 2017-2018 season, the company will become the first sponsor to have its logo displayed on the team's jerseys. The National Basketball Association will begin a three-year pilot program next season to test jersey sponsorships. Sun Life's sponsorship will also include a program intended to support diabetes awareness and prevention, but the details have not yet been released.

"We're thrilled to announce this new, first-of-its-kind partnership with the Raptors and MLSE," said Lisa Ritchie, chief marketing officer at Sun Life Financial. "These are great brands coming together, connecting with fans of the game and encouraging Canadians from coast to coast to live a healthy and active lifestyle. I look forward to the 2017-18 Raptors season when we officially launch this exciting program in support of diabetes and wellness."
