La Roche-Posay continues Skin Checker campaign

La Roche-Posay, a division of cosmetics company L'Oréal Canada, has resumed its "Become a Skin Checker" campaign for a third year. The initiative encourages consumers to check themselves and their family members for possible melanomas. It also encourages consumers to make use of protective sunscreen products such as the company's Anthelios line.

As part of the promotion, La Roche-Posay will distribute 20,000 patches which gradually change color as they are exposed to ultraviolet light. The patch can be worn on an exposed part of the body for up to three days to provide a measure of the wearer's exposure to sunlight. Consumers can use a mobile application to scan the patch and receive notification of when to re-apply sunscreen. The patches will be distributed through drug stores and online through July.
