Brix to sponsor Montreal marathon
Quebec-based maple syrup company Brix has signed a sponsorship agreement with the Rock 'n' Roll Oasis Montreal Marathon. Under the terms of the deal, Brix will be the official "energy gel" sponsor of the event, which will take place on Sept. 24. The annual marathon and half-marathon are organized by the Festival de la Santé in conjunction with Competitor Canada. Brix's gel products are made from concentrated maple syrup and are intended to help athletes maintain their physical performance.
"We are always on the lookout for the best products to offer our runners, and we chose Brix for its high-performance, 100% natural, locally-manufactured gels," said Louis Malafarina, executive director of the marathon. "We are delighted to make this top quality Quebec product known to runners from here and elsewhere. It is also a natural partnership for us since Brix gels already proved their worth at last year's event."
