Nestle Purina sponsors CAMH pet therapy program
Nestle Purina PetCare Canada of Mississauga has signed a sponsorship agreement with the Toronto-based Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and its pet therapy program. The company will provide a $30,000 grant to the centre to study the health impact of animal-assisted therapy. It will also match consumer donations made through the centre's "Gifts of Light" fundraising program. The CAMH pet therapy program provides visits from 28 therapy dogs to patients in the hospital.
"We are proud to support the CAMH pet therapy program, which will help so many people in their recovery process," said Katy Phillips, director of marketing at Purina Canada. "The positive bond between people and pets has been a key pillar of Purina's commitment to people and pets for many years."
