Sportsnet to open branded restaurant in Toronto

Rogers Media will open a branded restaurant called the Sportsnet Grill in Toronto on Aug. 8. The sports-themed restaurant is located in the Marriott City Centre Hotel, overlooking the Rogers Centre field. The location will also serve as a venue for live Sportsnet programming and events. The launch will be promoted with an event in the parkette next to the entrance. The event will include food and beverage sampling, an augmented reality presentation and a contest component.

"In partnership with the Toronto Marriott City Centre Hotel, we've created a fun, casual and contemporary space that serves as a perfect downtown destination for sports fans to meet and enjoy watching games all year round," said Scott Moore, president of Sportsnet. "It's a priority for us to continue finding innovative and exciting ways to engage our audiences with the Sportsnet brand by providing not only the content they want, but also experiences in watching that content that they can't get anywhere else."
