New executive director at Magazines Canada
Magazines Canada of Toronto has promoted Melanie Rutledge to the position of executive director. She replaces outgoing chief executive officer Matthew Holmes. Rutledge was previously director of government and industry engagement for Magazines Canada. She was also a senior consultant at Everson Public Affairs and head of the writing and publishing section at the Canada Council for the Arts. Rutledge has also worked for John Wiley & Sons, CDG Books and Arts & Communications. She also operated a consulting firm called Rutledge Writes.
